How does Viagra

The main mechanism of action of this drug is a significant increase in blood flow to the penis, which contributes to the appearance of a natural erection in men. “Viagra” has a positive effect only on the natural mechanisms of erection – this is its novelty and the secret of incredible popularity.

Viagra is not a general stimulant that increases male libido, and does not cause the appearance of sexual desire as such – the action of “magic” tablets is based only on local increase in blood flow to the cavernous body of the penis, which contributes to the appearance of an erection.

Reception of Viagra and dose determination

Usually it is recommended to take one tablet one hour before the planned sexual activity. The drug starts to act somewhere 30-50 minutes after taking and retains its effect for several hours. If you take Viagra before eating, it will act faster. The tablet should be used only when there is an intention and an opportunity to have sexual intercourse, and not more often than once a day.

The drug Viagra is available in three dosages: 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg. Initially, an average dose of 50 mg is given, and after, depending on the effect, it can be adjusted downward or upward. There is another approach, according to which you need to start with a minimal dose, and then increase the dosage if necessary.

This app provides even young students with an introduction to coding – or computer programming.  The Hopscotch computer programming language is derived from Scratch by those at MIT.  It provides students with a choice of building blocks in 6 categories.  The blocks control the movement and actions of chosen characters.  Not only do students learn the fundamentals of coding, but they also have the opportunity to hone their critical thinking and problem solving skills.

The Hopscotch website has a link to their ‘Hour of Code’ tutorial and to 7 lessons that can be used in a classroom or small group setting.  The app itself has links to existing projects and a community section where projects can be shared and remixed.

Block Categories

  • Movement: move, rotate, change y by, change x by, set rotation, set position, set speed
  • Drawing: move with trail, set line width, set line color, clear
  • Control Flow: repeat/end, wait
  • Appearance: grow, shrink, set invisibility, change pose, bring to front, send to back
  • Values: set value, change value

BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week

I am a big fan of Brain Pop movies. This app is geared towards students in grades Kindergarten – third. Another version is available for older students. Good ‘ole Moby (the robot) appears in all BrainPOP Jr. movies with his dear friend Annie.

This app does allow all students to watch one ‘free’ movie each week. However, students with access to a subscription can log in to access part of or the entire collection of BrainPOP Jr. movies! Bonus features (such as quizzes and activities) are included for each movie.

There are two different mobile-device based subscriptions.

Explorer – $1.99/month. Provides access to the free ‘Movie of the Week’ and its bonus features plus 3 related movies (per week) and their bonus features
Full Access – $5.99/month. Provides unlimited access to all movies and their bonus features
Note: Login credentials for the web-based BrainPOP sites also work on mobile devices via the BrainPOP apps.

Is it possible to cure depression with antidepressants?

Our psyche often uses depression to attract our attention and point out to us that somewhere in the depths of us there hides lie.

James Hollis

The dark horse of 21st century. What is the danger of depression?

We are all familiar with sadness and grief, we experience negative emotions for various reasons or even with no reasons, when we «wake up on the wrong side of the bed». Sometimes we even feel depressed. But depression is more than just feelings.

Depression can be characterized as a mood disorder in other words a complex of mental disorders connected first of all with the emotional sphere. This disorder is marked by various emotional disturbances in which people experience anguish, anxiety, guilt, anhedonia, that is the loss of the ability to experience pleasure; or apathy – a state where a person does not experience either negative or positive emotions. More than that, depression is characterized by certain thought disorders. For example, people with depression find it difficult to concentrate, to perform purposeful mental functioning, which is connected with concentration of attention. In a depressed state people have troubles with making decisions. They have gloomy thoughts about themselves, about the world around them, about people.

Depression has such physiological phenomena as sleep disorders, intestinal functions, sexual needs. Patients with depression lose their energy tone and feel fatigue. In some cases, patients may experience unpleasant feelings in their body. If one looks at such a person and his behavior one can see passivity, avoiding contact with people or refusal of entertainment. Depression is often accompanied by an increasing alcohol abuse or other psychoactive substances that are used to better mood.

While talking about this common illness, there is a need to describe the risk factors for the depression:

  • Age from 20 to 40 years;
  • Changes in social status;
  • Divorces, breakups with a loved one;
  • Existence of acts of suicide in previous generations;
  • Loss of close relatives to the age of eleven;
  • Predominance of anxiety, diligence and responsibility in personal qualities of features;
  • Long-acting stressors;
  • Homosexual orientation;
  • Problems in the sexual sphere;
  • The postpartum period, especially among single mothers.

So, we cannot fail to see that a large number of people is at risk of getting depressed. But is it possible to cure depression and how can we do this?

This is one of the most frequent and very first questions of depressive stories. Let’s try to answer. The answer is the following: you can be cured of depression, it is obvious, depression can be overcome, to be more exact.

If you understand that you’ve got one of these signs of depression, you must consult your doctor immediately, because this disease is difficult or almost impossible to cure in its severe form. After you get checked your doctor diagnoses you and gives prescription of necessary medicines.

Is it necessary to have a prescription? Dosage, daily regimen of medication is prescribed by a doctor, it is kind of self-explanatory. Only a qualified specialist will be able to assess the true state of your psyche and calculate and dose the drugs accurately. Taking drugs in a right way is one of the components of success in the fight against depression.

But in most cases patients seem to have only a mild form of a disease. If such is the case the doctor will prescribe light antidepressants of a new generation. What is special about them? The mild form of depression can be “corrected” with the help of drugs that are not asked for prescription in the pharmacies. As a rule, antidepressants of the new generation do not do harm to the body as drugs produced in the last century. Modern “over-the-counter” antidepressants radically differ from the drugs of the older generation. Let us get a view of advantages of modern antidepressants:

  • go without prescription;
  • faster effects in human and faster mood improve;
  • fewer side effects;
  • the possibility of simultaneous reception with many other medicines;
  • no significant drug self-tapering.

Besides, you do not have to waste your time visiting your doctor and getting examined. Isn’t it good news for the moment when we are always in a hurry and short of free time? In addition to this, buying antidepressants on our online shop, you are able to choose the most suitable antidepressants for you – we offer a large variety of drugs, we assure you that no pharmacy in your place has such a broad selection of antidepressants. Moreover, your package will reach you with no logos, marks or labels – in which pharmacy can you save your anonymity, it doesn’t matter if you live in a small town or in a big city? Delivery time will also be a welcome surprise. We practice a next-day delivery, overnight delivery; also we can deliver our product at any convenient time for the client.

In spite of the fact that there are many meds and methods of treating depression, we must keep in mind that the best way to combat depression is to prevent it. People who have a favorite job, family and who live a full life suffer from depression very rarely. Even if there are stressful situations, they are not able to affect psycho-emotional well-being of such people. A healthy lifestyle, a variety of leisure activities, interesting friends and hobbies, playing sports – that’s the solution to all human misfortunes.

MoMA Art Lab

There are many art apps available and this is a decent option from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) due to its connection to the Museum and included activities.

A description from the app itself: “The MoMA Art Lab app explores how artists use shape and line in art through creative explorations of the Museum collection, interactive learning activities, and prompts for creativity. Using the Art Lab at home or in the Museum, children, artists, and designers can find inspiration and new ways of connecting with MoMA’s collection.”

Of course students are easily able to use shapes, colors, and other tools to create a masterpiece. However, the app also comes with a bank of ideas such as, “Design a house or building using shapes. Can you create a whole city?” Another is, “Draw for ten seconds without lifting your finger. Color in any shapes that were created.” Little learners can even press the speaker button to have the idea (and the activities listed below) read to them!

Nine activities are also included within the app. Each is based on the work of a MoMA artist.

  • Create a mobile (Alexander Calder)
  • Experiment with paint (Arshile Gorky)
  • Draw from instructions (Sol LeWitt)
  • Create a sound composition (Elizabeth Murray)
  • Create a chance collage (Jean (Hans) Arp)
  • Draw with scissors (Henri Matisse)
  • Create a line design (Jim Lambie)
  • Create an “exquisite corpse” (Breton, Morise, Tanguy, Naville, Peret, Tanguy, Prevert)
  • Create a shape poem (Brice Marden)

Once a piece of artwork is complete, your child must use the camera tool to take a picture of it and then it will be stored in the included gallery. From there, artwork can be saved to the device’s photo album, sent to MoMA, or shared with others via email or Twitter. Note: These sharing options must be enabled via the tablet’s main setting menu.

Scratch Jr

Like Hopscotch, Scratch Jr. is an excellent app for introducing younger students to the world of basic coding/programming.

The interface is organized quite well – with the stage taking up the bulk of the space, followed by the area for the programming script.

The coding blocks are separated into the following categories: Triggering, Motion, Looks, Sound, Control, and End.

Each activity has the ability to be saved, for easy access the next time the app is opened.

Doodle Fit

While it may be a stretch to classify this as a geometry app, I do think it’s earned a place in an educational setting.  The objective is deceivingly simple – fit the provided shapes of blocks into the master shape.  But even I found this app quite challenging!  I kept wanting to turn each piece to make it fit.  Luckily, however, that option does not exist.

It’s hard to customize a puzzle app too much.  But the developers do allow you to select a theme, choosing from: Winter, Old paper, Red leather, Valentine’s Day, Nature, Sci-fi, Notebook, or Chalkboard.  The music varies with the themes, but can also be muted.

Although this app is quite challenging, there is the option to receive hints.  One hint is earned each time you complete two levels.  More complicated levels are unlocked as simpler ones are completed.  Levels are sorted into ‘Packs’.  The next Pack is unlocked when all levels in the previous Pack are completed.

Students who appreciate challenging (yet addictive) puzzle apps will find this app engaging and fun!  You may want to try the free ‘Lite’ version before committing to the paid version.

Learn Spanish for Kids – Ottercall

This app has an interesting concept behind it, but overall – it fails to fully deliver.  From the ‘About’ section of the app: “Ottercall helps you practice your pronunciation and learn to speak a new language.  We use speech recognition to help judge your pronunciation and give useful feedback.”

Unfortunately, the speech recognition component of the app is in need of improvement.  It often gives negative feedback when words are actually correctly pronounced.

To begin, the user selects from the list of lessons.  They also choose for the language to be English or Spanish.  Then they tap the picture to listen as the device reads the word aloud.  This feature is the best in the app!  Although the voice sounds very ‘computer like’, it is still beneficial to have the app read each vocabulary word aloud.  But I do not recommend using the speech recognition component of the app until the developers greatly improve that feature.

Bible for Kids

Rather than being a kids version of the Holy Bible, this (free!) app presents stories from the bible in an engaging way. The app is quite simple to navigate through and includes vivid illustrations, animations, and simple comprehension exercises. The app comes with the option to have the text read aloud and even printed on the screen. Background music can also be turned on or off. The voice that presents each story is appropriately jovial.
